Shelagh Fogarty speaks to journalist and author Simon Kuper about Donald Trump's political playbook and whether it would be fair to classify him as a 'fascist'.

Whilst not completely on board with the term fascist, Kuper admits that he's a 'dangerous authoritarian', exercising tactics of oppressive control.

Citing the fatal ICE shooting in Minnesota, Kuper says Trump views the 'population as the enemy', mobilising ICE agents as a 'militia'.

Kuper continues to say that there will always be an 'authoritarian' candidate in American politics in the future, yet he sees JD Vance as a pure 'opportunist', riding on Trump's 'slipstream'.
