The Cupra Formentor VZe plug-in hybrid is a new hybrid SUV from Barcelona-based Volkswagen Group brand Cupra. It uses a 1.4-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder engine (110kW) and an 85kW electric motor to make 180kW/400Nm. It can travel 49km on electric only range in the real world and uses about 7L/100km once the battery is dead.
The Formentor Hybrid competes with the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Haval H6 Hybrid, Mazda CX-30 M Hybrid, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and BMW X3 PHEV among others. The Formentor VZe costs $66,990 driveaway.
