I know there's gonna be that one guy who says "erm, actchully, Jurassic Park is based on a book, so it wasn't an original movie!"

All I mean is Hollywood needs to tell new stories and create new franchises. Jurassic Park may have been a book before it was a movie, but the movie kicked off the franchise we have today.
