Is Math Necessary for Programming and Machine Learning? 🤔

About this video

So do you actually need to learn math to be a programmer? How about fields like Computer Graphics or Machine Learning? This is a question many beginner programmers or computer scientists have.

Is math really that necessary for programmers? Will you be a bad programmer if you don't know math? In what ways math can help you as a programmer and developer? The answer is: it depends! In most fields you can get by only knowing foundational maths: basic algebra, operations, etc. For certain fields in Computer Science, such as Computer Vision, Computer Graphics or Machine Learning, strong math knowledge is definitely going to help you and will set you apart from people who only use libraries without understanding how they work under the hood. In those fields, maths like Linear Algebra will come up all the time so it's highly recommended you have a good grasp of it. Watch the video where I explain this in more detail!
