Iran Israel War: Iran Missile Strike Hits India-Bound Mayuree Naree Ship Near Strait of Hormuz

Iran has attacked the Thai ship Mayuree Naree, which was en route to India, in a missile strike near the Strait of Hormuz on 11 March. The vessel was headed for Kandla port in Gujarat when it came under attack. Crew members sustained injuries and had to run to safety with assistance from authorities in Oman. India has condemned the attack, stating it deplores the targeting of commercial shipping in the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Separately, a US-owned vessel, Safesea Vishnu, was also hit in the attacks, resulting in the death of an Indian national on board. The strikes on oil infrastructure are seen as Iran's way of pressuring countries involved in the ongoing conflict in the region.
