About this video

ANZ Chief Economist Richard Yetsenga analyses the RBA Governor Michele Bullock’s reaction to unemployment data and the stall in interest rates.

β€œI think, though, 2025 is a different year for the RBA. The governor speaks for her views and the bank’s views, but ultimately it is the monetary policy board which makes the decision,” Mr Yetsenga told Sky News Australia.

β€œYou would say almost certainly we’ll get a cash rate cut next month, but the tone of the speech today, I think, was consistent with easing still being pretty gradual and modest.”
