Clashes Erupt on Pakistan-Afghan Border in Khyber

Heavy fighting erupted on October 14 between Pakistani forces and the Afghan Taliban in Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to Islamabad, Taliban fighters and TTP militants opened unprovoked fire, prompting a strong military response that destroyed a Taliban tank. The clash came days after a deadly Taliban assault that killed 23 Pakistani troops, while Kabul accused Pakistan of carrying out prior airstrikes.
