Instagram Expands Access to Gifts, , a Tipping Feature.<br />On Feb. 8, Instagram announced that more <br />U.S. creators will have access to the <br />monetization feature which began testing last year.<br />Gifts allows fans to monetarily support their favorite creators with virtual gifts.<br />Stars, a virtual currency, is used to purchase the gifts within the Instagram app.<br />Gifts cost anywhere between <br />10 to several hundred stars.<br />45 Stars cost $0.99, 140 Stars are $2.99, <br />and 300 Stars are $5.99.<br />Creators share a cut of what they're gifted with Instagram, providing another revenue stream for the platform.<br />To check if you're eligible to receive Gifts, go to the Professional Dashboard in settings.<br />From there, toggle on the option if it's available.<br />For now, Gifts are only available in Reels.<br />The option to "Send Gift" will <br />appear by the creator's username.
