Inquilaab (1984) – Amitabh Bachchan & Sridevi’s Intense Bollywood Political Thriller 🎬

Amarnath, also known as Amar, is an educated young man who refuses to compromise his morals for a job. During a rally, he rescues politician Shankar Narayan from an angry crowd. Impressed, Shankar encourages Amar to join the police. Amar passes the IPS exam, becomes an ACP, and serves with integrity.

He meets Asha, the daughter of wealthy businessman Seetharam, and they fall in love. With Shankar’s support, Seetharam agrees to their marriage. However, Amar later uncovers a crime syndicate involving both Shankar and Seetharam. They blackmail him with a photograph showing him handing a briefcase to Seetharam’s partner, Richard Louis — an international smuggler.

Under orders from Seetharam, Amar retrieves diamonds from Richard Louis and saves him from the police, but ultimately kills him, earning public admiration. Inspector Pratap suspects Amar of possessing the diamonds, but fails to find them, as Amar has hidden them inside fake bandages. Misunderstanding the situation, Asha leaves Amar with their newborn child.

Devastated, Amar resigns from the force. At Shankar’s urging, he enters politics, wins the election, and becomes Chief Minister with the syndicate’s backing. In a cabinet meeting, Amar unexpectedly produces a machine gun, killing the entire network, including Seetharam and Shankar, in an act he believes is for the nation’s good.

Asha learns the truth about her father’s crimes and the blackmail, and reconciles with Amar. He surrenders to the police for his actions, but as he is taken away, the crowd demands his release.
