About this video
✨ Meet Rohit Srivastava — Filmmaker, Music Composer & Photographer ✨
Rohit Srivastava is a filmmaker and musician based in Mumbai, whose journey has moved fluidly across images, sound, and storytelling. An alumnus of the National Institute of Design (NID), Rohit studied Film & Video Communication before going on to build a diverse creative practice — directing films, composing music, singing, and creating music videos, ads, and branded content.
For a significant period, Rohit ran a production house called Sab Moh Maya Hai @smmhproductions9433 where he shot wedding films with a distinctly candid, fly-on-the-wall approach. Blending in with guests rather than standing apart, his lens captured moments most people don’t notice — the silences, the glances, the undercurrents.
What he witnessed, however, stayed with him.
In this episode of @onestorywithakktapanwar Rohit opens up about how closely observing Indian weddings — not as a participant, but as a quiet witness — altered his relationship with marriage, structure, and belief. He speaks about seeing rituals up close, the weight of expectations, and the unspoken tensions that often coexist with celebration. Over time, this proximity began to take a toll — on his mental peace, his health, and his faith in the idea of “happily ever after.”
This experience became Rohit’s one story.
We talk about what it means to be a silent observer, how losing faith can sometimes be the first step toward reclaiming oneself, and how stepping away from one creative chapter can lead you back to the core of why you began making art in the first place. Rohit reflects on identity, disillusionment, and the slow return to self-love — through music, honesty, and choosing alignment over approval.
✨ In this episode, we ask one central question: What happens when what you witness quietly changes how you see the world — and yourself?
This is a conversation about observation, disillusionment, and the courage it takes to walk away from what no longer feels true — and begin again.
If you’ve ever felt shaken by what you’ve seen, questioned long-held structures, or had to return to yourself after losing faith — this story will stay with you.
