India Dominates Mobile Phone Manufacturing with 99.2% Production Shift 🇮🇳

Delhi: Secretary of MeitY S. Krishnan says, One of the most successful elements of Make in India has been the efforts launched in the electronics sector. The first Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme was initiated for large-scale electronic manufacturing, covering the mobile phone ecosystem. The success is evident in the results achieved; in 2014-15, we imported about 74% of the total mobile phones consumed annually in the country. Today, 99.2% of the mobile phones purchased in India are manufactured domestically.
