The whole world knows about ‘Operation Blue Star’ which was launched between June 1-6, 1984 in Amritsar. Indian Army carried out the operation to remove Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale hiding inside Golden Temple. Operation was ordered by the then PM Indira Gandhi, primarily to take control of the Harmandir Sahib Complex. But do you know, there was another operation which was proposed to capture Bhindranwale alive. Former R&AW officer GBS Sidhu talked about ‘Operation Sundown’ which wasn’t approved by the then PM Indira Gandhi. But, why then PM Indira Gandhi did not give a green signal to ‘Operation Sundown’?
