Helldivers 2 is a fast-paced, cooperative third-person shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. As a sequel to the popular Helldivers (2015), the game expands on its predecessor’s chaotic, strategic combat and satirical take on militaristic propaganda.
Set in a dystopian future, players take on the role of elite soldiers known as Helldivers, tasked with spreading "managed democracy" across the galaxy. They engage in intense battles against deadly alien factions, including insectoid Terminids, the robotic Automatons, and the mysterious Illuminate, in an effort to defend Super Earth and eliminate hostile threats.
The game is built around team-based multiplayer gameplay, requiring coordination, strategy, and careful use of powerful Stratagems—call-in abilities that provide airstrikes, sentry turrets, supply drops, and more. Friendly fire is always on, adding to the chaos and forcing players to work together carefully.
With dynamic mission objectives, large-scale planetary warfare, and deep progression systems, Helldivers 2 delivers a thrilling mix of action, humor, and challenge, making it a must-play for fans of cooperative shooters. It was released for the PlayStation 5 and PC on February 8th 2024.
