About this video

“I don’t know why I’m here.” Kelly Dever, a current Boston police officer who previously worked in Canton, Massachusetts, was on the stand in the Karen Read trial on Monday.

Dever was working dispatch when Karen Read’s Lexus was brought to the Canton sallyport.

Defense attorney Alan Jackson asked Dever if she saw anything unusual, she responded, "You threatened to charge me with perjury during our phone call prior to the first trial if I didn't lie on the stand right now.”

Read, 45, has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death in the death of John O’Keefe.
