How much leverage do you typically utilise in your spread betting?
Do you have any words of advice when it comes to leverage? So how do you determine when to utilise either spreadbetting or traditional brokerage for your investments? (expected trade length, spread, costs, ISA) The most important thing with leverage is that you need to understand your exposure. If you've got a share that is at 100p and you bet 10 pounds a point on it, your exposure is 10 x 100 = GBP1000 so its like you have a thousand worth of shares. Work out what your exposure is in the market. Most of the times I use mirroring.
