How To Encrypt And Decrypt Files With Gpg4win Only Using A Password And Not Public And Private Key? If you want to protect your files locally, on an external HDD or on a cloud server with a password you have a couple of different options. Some people are using public key and private key with tools like PGP or their off-spins or similar tools like the Gpg4win here, but if this seems ot be a bit of an over-kill to you and you're afraid of losing these keys and you just want to use a normal traditional password, you can still do that using the Gpg4win tool as well. It's actually super easy to use, but you still have to know a few things - especially why the Gpg4win tool doesn't ask us for a password to locally decrypt the file on your PC after encrypting it here. So watch and see.
