The chancellor has said she is "asking everyone to make a contribution" by freezing income tax thresholds, in a move she acknowledged would affect "working people".
The plans were revealed as part of Rachel Reeves' second Budget, in which she also confirmed the removal of the two-child benefit cap, a tax on homes worth £2 million, and changes to salary-sacrificed pension contributions.
