True Cost of Our Van Build 💰

Okay, but this is NOT what we actually paid… 👇

One of the questions we get asked all the time now that the van build is done is: “How much did it all cost?”
And while we could just say the final number in this video, this wouldn’t tell the full story.
That’s what it WOULD HAVE COST if we paid full retail for everything, with no previous experience or connections. We don’t like just giving you a number without context because we have seen too many people posting unrealistic budgets for more views online or to seem more accessible.

The problem is, when people throw out lowball numbers, it gives future DIYers the wrong idea about what it really takes.

This is our second van build, and we’ve spent the last 3+ years building relationships with brands and suppliers, creating content, and working with brands, which meant we either didn’t pay, or didn’t pay retail prices for some of the items in this van build.

👉 What we actually paid out of pocket? $96,573 (van included).

And that still doesn’t include 7 months of 2-16 hour days, the tools, or the warehouse we rented to live + work in.

We hope both of these numbers help DIYers and content creators out there and show what’s possible when you treat content like a business, even with a small account. We’re super proud of it and couldn’t be happier with it all 🙂
