How a Food Bank Supports Communities 🌽

The Farm to Food Bank Program brings food to the Illinoisans who need it the most by supporting farmers who donate their products to food banks. When farmers volunteer to support their communities with excess food, the Farm to Food Bank program protects the farmers from the financial loss of harvesting, packaging and shipping costs. Three years after the program's inception, Farm to Food Bank captured 3 million pounds of surplus food, which equates to 2.5 million meals for Illinois food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other feeding programs.
