Horse racing world mourns the loss of So You Think

The thoroughbred world is mourning the loss of Hall of Fame racehorse & sire So You Think.

So You Think, one of the greatest racehorses and sires of the modern era, has passed away during the week of the Cox Plate – the very race that created his legend.

Coolmore Stud supremo Tom Magnier, who described So You Think as an “Australian icon”. revealed the striking, near-black stallion died in the Scone Equine Clinic this afternoon due to complications from ongoing health issues.

It’s a tragic blow to Coolmore who also lost another of their champion sires, Wootton Bassett, three weeks ago after he contracted influenza.

So You Think, an international champion who won 10 Group 1 races, was only 19 years of age and was in the prime of stallion career.
