About this video
The new Honda Civic Hybrid has a number of things you will either love or really hate. We sent Howard Ritchie out with a red one to find 10 very valuable bits of information about it.
This isnβt a press release or spec-sheet readout β itβs a real-world look at the Civic Hybridβs engineering, performance, and practicality. Under the hood, the self-charging hybrid combines an Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors, producing 184hp and giving a 0β60mph time of around 7.8 seconds. Real-world fuel economy ranges from 42β52mpg depending on driving style.
Inside, the cabin balances physical controls with digital displays, and Honda Sensing brings adaptive cruise, high-beam assist, and a 360Β° safety system. For practicality, the boot offers 1,220 litres of cargo capacity with rear seats folded β plenty for weekend gear or family trips.
We also look at ownership essentials: road tax costs, insurance quotes, and how it compares to other cars in its class like the BMW 3 Series. Some features will impress, some might annoy, and all are worth knowing before you buy.
