The new Honda Civic Hybrid has a number of things you will either love or really hate. We sent Howard Ritchie out with a red one to find 10 very valuable bits of information about it.

This isn’t a press release or spec-sheet readout — it’s a real-world look at the Civic Hybrid’s engineering, performance, and practicality. Under the hood, the self-charging hybrid combines an Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors, producing 184hp and giving a 0–60mph time of around 7.8 seconds. Real-world fuel economy ranges from 42–52mpg depending on driving style.

Inside, the cabin balances physical controls with digital displays, and Honda Sensing brings adaptive cruise, high-beam assist, and a 360° safety system. For practicality, the boot offers 1,220 litres of cargo capacity with rear seats folded — plenty for weekend gear or family trips.
