About this video

The town council have sunk further than I would have thought possible. On the matter of a personal meeting arranged between residents and Avon & Somerset Police to progress road safety on Avon Way, Portishead Town Council is now writing to North Somerset Council's deputy leader Effin Ap Rees, to ask whether NSC officers attended and what was their opinion of the meeting. What does the "I Man" Mr Peter Burden not understand about "personal"? This was not a political meeting nor one for NSC officers. It was arranged between one resident and myself, the PCC and the police to discuss whether a plan could be made to move forward and progress road safety after years of inactivity by Portishead Town Council. The meeting was successful (other residents came out to support) and a plan formed. Now it seems that Portishead Town Council is annoyed the meeting was successful and wants to stir things up a bit by writing to Effin Ap Rees to see why NSC wasn't invited. Does the town council get this angry every time they are not invited to a personally arranged meeting? Only when they realise that resident Chris Holman succeeded in doing what the town council should have done years ago. Shame on Peter Burden. (Perhaps he should stick to meddling in Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve with his colleague David Oyns. Both of whom are NSC district councillors who did nothing to stop the transfer of land to NSC and all that lovely money from PMML.The other point to mention is that Cllr Effin Ap Rees of NSC has refused all meetings with residents of Portishead. Furthermore, his officers have attended past meetings yet progression on Avon Way road safety has been non existent because Effin Ap Rees doesn't believe there is an issue. Another occasion to thank Mr Pickles for video recordings at council meetings. I have had to send links for the YouTube videos to the Town Council Clerk to correct wording in the Town Council Planning Minutes, again! This time however, the I Man Peter Burden, Chair of Planning, has surpassed himself and approved Minutes with made up wording that I never said. This was then sent to Effin Ap Rees and others by Portishead Town Council, stirring things up nicely. All about a personal meeting that had nothing whatsoever to do with Portishead Town Council. If Portishead Town Council now damages the good work of Chris Holman, who has been selfless and dedicated to Avon Way, then they should resign and hang their heads in shame. The council's words, "Unfortunately Portishead Town Council were not invited to attend that meeting" is why the council is miffed, as well as because the meeting was successful. Not invited because it was a personal meeting outside of dastardly local politics and Conservative Party agendas! https://youtu.be/Bvu_Zn8BzEg
