The use of word military in English was in 1585 – militarie. It has been taken from a Latin word militaris that comes from miles which means soldier. Military in general is referred to as the trained armed forces of a country which include their weapons, equipment and the area where they are deployed. It is profession of soldiers and the work that they do or the activity they perform. <br />In the entire history of mankind every nation or civilization had their own military. How these needs are determined forms the ground of their equipment, structure and the amenities that they use. It also defines what military does at times of war and peace. <br />Irrespective of their size and the place they belong every military force has an official state and acknowledgment in the world. <br />Ever since there have been civilizations there has been military. They may have had different names, weapons and techniques of fighting but their presence was important. With time and experience they bettered their fighting techniques and defence skills. Today military of countries are well-equipped with weapons of most advanced technology. The thought of military however remains the same – to protect ones lands.
