About this video
The History of Kashmir by UbaidKashmiri
Kashmir is located in the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent, nestled between the valleys of the Pir Panjal and Himalayas. The history of Kashmir predates the histories of both Pakistan and India. Kashmir is not the lifeline of any country; it is a unique entity blessed by Allah, a beautiful valley given to the Kashmiris. No country or entity has any right over it. I am narrating the true history, which I have been searching for a long time, to understand why each country, especially Pakistan and India, claims it as their lifeline.
When was Kashmir named, and by whom? Despite extensive research, I have only read a few pages of Kashmir's history. Alhamdulillah, I am proud to be a Kashmiri. Allah has blessed us with such a great gift that no amount of gratitude is enough. Allah has bestowed this region with unparalleled beauty, but the world creates false histories and claims it as their lifeline. The beautiful valley was made by Allah with unique beauty, not as anyone’s lifeline. The world has tried to divide it and claim it, but the true owners are the people living in Kashmir.
Three thousand years ago, Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman A.S.) named this beautiful valley. At that time, neither Pakistan nor India existed, but our land did. In that era, this valley was named by Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman A.S.), whom Allah blessed with prophethood and kingship. His miracles, such as the royal throne on which he traveled the world, are legendary.
Once, while traveling on his throne, he saw a dry peak in a vast expanse of water. He commanded his throne to land on this peak. Upon surveying the surroundings, he saw water everywhere. Seeing this beautiful sight, he held a meeting with his ministers and said that if the water could be drained from this lake, a beautiful valley would emerge, where humans could settle.
In the meeting, many creatures, including the leader of the jinns named Kash, and the queen of the fairies named Meer were present. Kash, who was in love with Meer, agreed to undertake the task but requested that if he succeeded, Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman A.S.) would marry him to Meer. Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman A.S.) agreed and ordered him to start the task. Kash began draining the water and soon revealed a beautiful valley. Keeping his promise, Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman A.S.) married Kash and Meer. This is how the valley got its name, Kashmir, combining the names of Kash and Meer.
In Srinagar, the Har Mukh peak is associated with this event, and in the 14th century AD, when Syed Ali Hamadani visited Kashmir, he named it Bagh-e-Sulaiman (Garden of Solomon). This demonstrates the historical, cultural, and traditional significance of Kashmir.
When Kashmir's history is so ancient, and these countries did not even exist, how can they shamelessly claim it as their lifeline or part of their territory? continue...
