Hindu Nationalism in India | DW Documentary

Hindu nationalism is growing in India. At the heart of this shift is the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), one of the most influential organizations with close ties to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ruling political party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The RSS and the RSS women’s wing teach Hindu-nationalist ideology through discipline, rituals, and targeted youth training, focusing on the idea of a Hindu nation. However, critics widely classify it as a paramilitary organization. At the same time, religious minorities and interfaith couples are facing increasing social pressures, discrimination, and uncertainty.
