High-Speed Police Chase: Kia Sorento Speeds Over 110 mph in San Diego 🚓

On July 24, 2024, a White Kia Sorento passed a California Highway Patrolman on Interstate 15 at speeds over 85 mph. Officers attempted to stop the Kia, but the driver refused to stop and accelerated to speeds of 110 mph as it approached University Avenue. As the Pursuit neared State Route 94 San Diego Police Departments Air Unit ABEL notified that they were overhead and had a visual on the Kia. The Kia maintained speeds of 122 mph at times recklessly fleeing from officers into the mobile home community Brentwood Park located just west of Industrial Boulevard near Naples Street where multiple occupants' foot bailed into a mobile home. At 0241 hours, the driver, Alexis Molina, was taken into custody following the clearance of a residence. Officers conducted a PAS breath analyzer test at 0420 hours at their office, which showed a reading of 0.54%, followed by a second test at 0422 hours with a reading of 0.57%. The driver Alexis Molina, was placed under arrest and subsequently booked into the San Diego Central Jail on the following charges:
