Disarmament Conference 2023: Trust & Cooperation 🤝

On 27 February 2023, Izumi Nakamitsu recalled the urgent need to build trust among Member States to pursue collective efforts to achieve the disarmament goals of the 21st century.

“This role has perhaps never been more necessary than it is today,” she said, urging States to work together, to rebuild trust, and in keeping with the times, ensure that it adjusts its practices to better fulfill its purpose and launch new negotiations.
