Rainy Night in an African Homestead 🌧️

It was a cold evening in our traditional African homestead as heavy rain and thunderstorms poured over the village. The cows returned home through the muddy compound while we prepared hot goat soup and pumpkin soup to keep warm in this chilly weather. Inside, mama smeared the floors with a mixture of cow dung and mud to keep the house clean and to prevent snakes from entering. Our home has traditional beds made from mud and beautifully decorated with sticks, just like the one seen here. The sound of rain on the thatched roof and the smell of wet earth filled the air, creating a peaceful and homely feeling of life in the village.
