Pakistan’s second-largest city, Lahore, was blanketed in hazardous smog on Friday (October 31), as air quality levels plunged to dangerous lows. Locals expressed deep frustration over worsening pollution, saying they are forced to take protective measures daily. “Wearing a mask is crucial,” said resident Mohammad Farhan. Another local, Khalid Mehboob, blamed crop burning, brick kilns, and vehicle emissions, calling it a “self-inflicted crisis.”
Smog has become a recurring crisis for Lahore, often ranking among the world’s most polluted cities during winter months.
