January dawns bright and fresh, right after a grounding New Moon in the sign of the mythical, creative, and pragmatic sea goat at the end of 2024.

2025 looks promising, with January’s energy, for the most part, being softer and more emotionally attuned. From as early as the 2nd, Venus heads into gentle, tender Pisces, revealing a compassionate approach to love, an empathetic energy much needed in light of the ongoing Mars retrograde.

Speaking of Mars, the Warrior slips back into Cancer on the 6th, also a water sign, also sensitive, also emotive. As such, our actions, be they in the direction of love, money, or work, will be led by the heart - by intuition. Mars is perhaps not as happy as he could be in this most home-bodied of signs. The Warrioress does not much like knitting, baking, or domestic bliss. No - this planet is made for battle, for action.

And so, emotions may be heightened, making it important to remember that feelings, as real as they are, are not facts and thus should not be reacted to. The Full Moon in this same sign on the 13th is very near to Mars, also emphasizing the importance of home and hearth, urging us to protect and defend what is important, yet to also pick our battles wisely. Inner safety and outer security are the overriding themes.

Mercury’s entry into grounded Capricorn on the 8th lends our minds some much-needed practicality, especially considering the Sun’s move into idealistic Aquarius on the 19th. The New Moon, following on the 29th, is one of the very best of the year. La Luna invites inspiration, expansion, and heart-centered growth, both personally as well as within our communities in the months to come.
