Happening Now: Trump To Deliver Announcement On Drug Pricing

President Trump on Friday afternoon will make an announcement related to lowering drug prices — an effort he has leaned into ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

In recent months, Trump has struck deals with several drug manufacturers — including Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca — as part of his most favored nation (MFN) executive order issued in July. The Trump administration also launched its TrumpRx.com platform, an online portal where U.S. citizens can search for affordable medication.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote Friday in a post online that the president “will be announcing more incredible deals that will lower prices of drugs and pharmaceuticals,” and encouraged supporters to “Tune in!”

The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EST.
