The NWU Convocation includes former students (alumni) who have obtained a degree or diploma from the NWU or its predecessors, and all current permanent staff members of the University.
Membership is by formal application and a one-off fee of R50 for lifelong membership. Recognised as a statutory body of NWU, the Convocation is an integral part of the formal management framework of the University, as set out in the University’s Statute.
The primary goal of the Convocation is to promote the welfare of the NWU by safeguarding its image, traditions, and interests. It acts as a vital bridge between its members and the University. Represented on the University Council, the Convocation also works closely with other entities such as the Alumni Association, fostering interaction between the University and its alumni. Membership provides you with a meaningful opportunity to have your say in the governance of your alma mater.

Die NWU-Konvokasie bestaan uit oudstudente (alumni) wat ʼn graad of diploma aan die NWU of sy voorgangers verwerf het, sowel as alle huidige permanente personeellede van die Universiteit.
Lidmaatskap kan verkry word via ʼn formele aansoek en ʼn eenmalige betaling van R50 vir lewenslange lidmaatskap. Die Konvokasie, wat as ʼn statutêre liggaam van die NWU erken word, is ʼn integrale deel van die formele bestuursraamwerk van die Universiteit, soos uiteengesit in die Universiteit se Statuut.
Die primêre doel van die Konvokasie is om die welsyn van die NWU te bevorder deur sy beeld, tradisies en belange te beskerm. Dit dien as ʼn brug tussen die Universiteit en sy lede. Die Konvokasie geniet verteenwoordiging op die Universiteit se Raad en werk nou saam met ander entiteite soos die Alumnivereniging, wat interaksie tussen die Universiteit en sy alumni bevorder. Lidmaatskap bied aan jou ʼn betekenisvolle geleentheid om jou sê te sê oor die bestuur van jou alma mater.
