Gold prices have witnessed a significant decline across the globe. Gold has now hit its lowest level in nearly two months. Silver prices, too, have experienced a substantial drop. Experts have now issued a major warning, stating that silver prices are poised to fall by as much as ₹80,000. However, the question remains: why are experts making such predictions, and what accounts for the recent decline in gold and silver prices? Gold prices have indeed seen a sharp downturn; in the international market, Spot Gold fell by approximately 1.3% to reach $4,447 per ounce. This is considered to be its lowest level in nearly the last two months. Meanwhile, US Gold Futures also declined by about 1.2%. Turning to the Indian market, the stock market remains closed on May 28th on account of Bakrid, while the commodities market is scheduled to open in the evening. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for delivery on June 5, 2026, closed on May 27 at ₹155,650 per kilogram—marking a decline of ₹1,966.
