Wisconsin Businesses Urged to Embrace AI 🌐

At a forum on practical uses of artificial intelligence, speakers stressed the importance that area businesses and employees embrace the workplace revolution and implement the technology in their work.

The event was hosted by the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin at the Alliant Energy Center Tuesday. Around 100 people representing labor, government and private business attended to hear a succession of speakers share their thoughts and experiences of AI in the workplace.

Secretary of the state Department of Workforce Development, Amy Pechacek, led off the proceedings. She touched on a number of policy and regulatory considerations around the technology’s use.

She noted that larger companies have adopted AI faster than medium and small businesses who may have fewer financial and other resources needed to pivot to new tools. Pechacek told 27 News in an interview that her department is exploring ways to incentivize smaller employers to adopt the technology.

For now, she’s undertaking education on the issue through events like Tuesday’s forum.
