o There are two types of encryption keys symmetric and asymmetric encryption. o Symmetric encryption uses a single key that needs to be shared among the people. o Asymmetric encryption uses pair of public key & private key to encrypt and decrypt. o Symmetric encryption is old technique while asymmetric encryption is relatively new. o Asymmetric encryption takes relatively more time than the symmetric encryption. o Symmetric key cryptography utilizes less resource as compared to Asymmetric key. o Asymmetric key cryptography utilizes more resource as compared to symmetric key. o An Asymmetric key is slower than symmetric key cryptography. o A Symmetric key is faster than asymmetric key cryptography.
