Rebels target a school occupied by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Idlib province.<br/> <br />In a conflict that has already cost the lives of some 44,000 people they are learning how to fend for themselves one weapon at a time.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) UNNAMED SYRIAN REBEL, SAYING:<br/> <br />"There is a school that has been taken over by the Assad thugs. We are now targeting the school with handmade missiles."<br/> <br />Rebels have scored advances across the country closing in on the Capitol Damascus.<br/> <br />Syria's military police chief has now defected.<br/> <br />As rebels gain ground Western powers fear the response from a weakened government could become even more dangerous.
