Engineers in Japan are preparing to remove fuel rods from the number four Fukushima nuclear power plant. The facility was badly damaged in the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011. If it goes wrong, the process of removing the rods, which contain uranium and a small amount of plutonium, could lead to a nuclear reaction and put greater Tokyo at risk.
