About this video
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy is today expected to announce this month's adjusted fuel prices as South Africans face a high cost of living and energy crisis. It is anticipated that the price of petrol will increase beyond R23 a litre, and diesel is expected to decrease by between 31 cents and 57 cents a litre. The cost of illuminating paraffin is slated to come down by around 32 cents a litre. The Automobile Association (AA) says the decrease in diesel and paraffin prices is certainly good news, especially as the country enters colder months. But the increases in petrol prices will add more strain to already stretched budgets, and consumers are advised to revise their budgets accordingly. To talk more about what to expect and the cost to consumers, we are joined by Dawie Roodt, Chief Economist at Efficient Group. Good morning.
