Inches: The numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) represent whole inches 🔢.

Fractions of an inch:
1/2 inch: Middle line between whole inches ⏸️.
1/4 inch: Between whole inch and 1/2 inch 📏.
1/8 inch: Smaller line between 1/4 inch 🟰.
1/16 inch: Smallest marking ⚖️.

Example: A marking between 1 and 2 inches, just after 1, is 1 1/8 inches 📏.

📐 For Centimeters:

Centimeters: Each number (1, 2, 3, etc.) represents whole centimeters 🔢.

Millimeters: Each centimeter is divided into 10 parts 📏.
Example: A marking between 5 and 6 cm, halfway, is 5.5 cm (or 5 cm and 5 mm) 📏.
