Finite State Machines: Model & Applications

A computational model consisting of a finite number of states, transitions between those states, and actions. FSMs are used to design and represent the behavior of systems that can be in one of a finite number of conditions at any given time. They are commonly used in the design of digital circuits, control systems, and software for parsing and protocol implementation.
