This was a statement from the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Parveen Kumar Bala while handing out cheques on arrears of wages to 7 workers in the North.“Workers have also got commitment and employers must look after them.
I would like to urge the workers in this country, that if you’re facing similar cases, please report to the nearest Employment Department, so that we can investigate and pay you what you are due,” Minister Bala said.
The Ministry was able to recover $4.3 million between 2018 and 2019 from companies for failing to comply with the policies that protects employees.
