FCC Restores Net Neutrality Rules, Banning ISP Traffic Prioritization 🌐

The US Federal Communications Commission voted to reinstate net neutrality regulations, reversing the 2017 decision under the Trump administration. Net neutrality rules prevent internet service providers like Comcast and Verizon from prioritizing some internet traffic over others. The new rules will again prohibit ISPs from charging users extra fees for prioritized access to content or blocking/slowing specific websites and apps. The FCC had previously ruled it had authority over broadband as an information service but courts found it lacked mandate to impose anti-discrimination rules on ISPs.
