​The Incident: A Near-Fatal Disaster
It started as a routine day for our Massey Ferguson 375 tractor and trailer. We were heading deep into the rugged mountains to load rocks for transport. However, fate had other plans. While navigating a steep and narrow mining path, the tractor’s brakes failed completely.
​With no way to stop the heavy machinery, the tractor gained speed on the descent. The driver lost all steering control, and the vehicle careened toward the edge of a massive mountain cliff. In a split-second decision that saved his life, the driver jumped from the moving tractor. The Massey 375 slammed into the very edge of the ridge, hanging precariously over a deep khai (abyss). It was a miracle that it didn't fall all the way down.

To pull off this impossible rescue, we had to bring in the big guns. We deployed the KATO NK-200 Truck Crane, a machine known for its incredible lifting capacity and stability in rough environments.
​Lifting Power: The KATO NK-200 is engineered to handle massive loads, with a lifting capacity that allowed us to secure the 375 tractor even on an uneven, rocky slope.
​Precision Engineering: Operating a crane in these narrow mountain passes requires extreme skill. One wrong move and the crane itself could tip. Our team carefully positioned the KATO to ensure maximum leverage.
​The Recovery Process: Step-by-Step
​Securing the Load: We utilized heavy-duty industrial chains to anchor the Massey 375 to the KATO’s main boom.
​The Tilt Challenge: As the lifting began, the tractor-trailer started to tilt dangerously to one side due to the weight of the attached trolley.
​Caterpillar Loader Support: To prevent a total flip, we called in our Caterpillar Wheel Loader. By attaching a secondary stabilization line, the CAT loader provided the counter-weight needed to keep the tractor straight during the vertical lift.
​Final Extraction: With the combined power of the KATO crane's hydraulics and the loader's pulling force, we successfully hoisted the Massey 375 back onto the stable mining path.
