Violence erupted in Buenos Aires, Argentina as unions and activist groups protested a controversial labor reform bill under debate in Argentina’s Senate. Demonstrators hurled objects at police outside Congress, while officers responded with tear gas and water cannons to push crowds back. The ruling coalition says it has enough support to pass the measure despite fierce opposition from major labor unions, which warn the legislation would weaken worker protections.
