“I wanted to amplify the voices of people who work on shows and in my studio and in general in the industry that don't usually get talked about. So the artisans behind the design, and with each of the shows we chose them partially because they're really well known shows. Some of them are huge hits on Broadway, but also because each one grapples with enormous human emotions, right? And they also have distinct design challenges.”

“I like to think of the set designer as kind of a co-conceiver of a production. I'm usually one of the first people in on the creative team, and I like talk to the director and the choreographer about how we're going to move, not just from one scene to the other, but what happens in between and how the design can unfold in an interesting way.”

“And if you told me... As a kid that I would have quotes from David Byrne, Pete Townsend, and the person who would become Lin-Manuel Miranda talking about how I was the person tasked to create worlds for their shows. I would leap out of my body.”
