Danish reserves overtake Netherlands in Golden League
A number of profiles got a day off, but that didn't stop Nikolaj Jacobsen's men from beating Holland clearly.

TRONDHEIM National coach Nikolaj Jacobsen can record another victory and several successful experiments in the Danish handball team's second match in the Golden League tournament in Norway.
Denmark won a fast-paced performance 40-24 over the Netherlands and were given playing minutes to players who normally play in the second or third row.
Not everything was successful, and there were blemishes along the way. But the national coach also confirmed that he has many quality players to choose from when he selects his squad for the European Championship in January.
He could afford to give profiles like Emil Nielsen, Niclas Kirkeløkke, Rasmus Lauge and Thomas Arnoldsen a day off without it jeopardizing a sure victory.
Mathias Gidsel played the first half as a playmaker to create a different dynamic in the back line. He has tried this before, but this time it was only a conditional success.
The starting formation with Gidsel between Lasse Andersson and Jacob Lassen didn't really work. The basic game was a bit too slow, and both Andersson and winger Magnus Landin were too eager.
Things got better when Simon Pytlick and Hjalte Lykke were sent into the back positions midway through the half. Lykke got his first minutes as a senior national team player and only needed ten seconds to force a penalty kick.
The fast GOG'er showed good timing overall and was instrumental in Denmark running away from the Dutch at the end of the first half, which ended 20-15.
While the Netherlands, led by the lively Luc Steins, followed well in the first 30 minutes, there was a class difference between the two teams from the start of the second half.
The defense was tightened up considerably, and Kevin Møller had much better conditions in goal. Veteran Mads Mensah came on and showed that he can still do a solid job for the national team at both ends of the pitch.
Ten minutes into the second half, the Danish lead had grown from five to ten goals, and the intensity faded slightly from the match as time went on.
In the end, it was only a question of the size of the victory and whether Lasse Andersson would get a much-needed experience of success in attack.
The otherwise hard-shooting Füchse Berlin player had nice passes to his teammates, but gradually seemed frustrated that he couldn't get his shooting arm going at all.
Denmark will conclude the Golden League with a match against the Faroe Islands on Sunday afternoon.
