Inter's UEFA Cup Final Appearances Since 1991 🏆

Inter are back in a Europa League/UEFA Cup final for the first time in 22 years. We have had a special relationship with this competition down the years: for the fifth time ever, we have reached the final stage. Let’s take a look back at the four finals we’ve been in down the years. From the 1991 win over two legs against Roma, thanks to goals from Matthäus and Berti, to the victory over Casino Salzburg in 1994 - 1-0 both home and away with goals from Berti (yes, him again) and Jonk. Then, we have ineffectual Zamorano goal and the bitter defeat to Schalke on penalties in 1997. One year later, we made up for the loss by beating Lazio 3-0 in Paris - goals scored by Zamorano (yes, him again), Zanetti and the unstoppable “Fenomeno” Ronaldo. In the hope that our next final (Friday 21 August in Cologne vs. Sevilla) will finish with the Nerazzurri lifting the trophy once more...

L’Inter torna a giocarsi una finale di Europa League/Coppa Uefa dopo 22 anni. Una competizione con la quale abbiamo storicamente un feeling speciale: per la quinta volta, infatti, arriviamo all’atto conclusivo del torneo. Riviviamo allora tutte e quattro le nostre finali precedenti: da quella del 1991, vinta nel doppio confronto contro la Roma grazie ai sigilli di Matthaus e Berti, al bis del 1994, ottenuto in virtù del duplice 1-0 inflitto agli austriaci del Casino Salisburgo con le reti di Berti (sì, ancora lui) e Jonk, passando poi per l’amarissima sconfitta del 1997 ai rigori contro lo Schalke 04 (inutile il gol di Zamorano) riscattata appena un anno più tardi a Parigi, teatro di quell’indimenticabile 3-0 ai danni della Lazio firmato da Zamorano (sì, ancora lui), Zanetti e dalla danza inarrestabile del “Fenomeno” Ronaldo. Nella speranza che la nostra quinta finale, in programma venerdì 21 agosto a Colonia contro il Siviglia, ci regali un altro trofeo da aggiungere alla bacheca…
