1920s: Mickey Mouse, while Steam Boat Willie as Black and White, there were Red Short Mickey Mouse designs in the Disney Comics in 1929.
1930s: Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. He didn’t have a TV series until the 1960s, but he was a children’s book characters in 1939.
1940s: The Flash. First appearing in Flash Comics #1 in January of 1940, today there are many different flashes in the DC Universe.
1950s: Red M & M. While the M&Ms candy was invented in 1941, the characters weren’t introduced until 1954.
1960s: Clifford The Big Red Dog. While the Cartoon Series didn’t come out until the early 2000s, Clifford was first a children’s book character in 1963.
1970s: Elmo! Elmo started off as generic Background monster, but developed into one of the most famous Sesame Street Characters today.
1980s: Super Mario! The original Super Mario Bros. Nintendo game released in 1983.
1990s: Jason Lee Scott AKA The Red Ranger form the Power Rangers which first came out in 1993.
2000s: Ka Chow it’s Lightning McQueen: The First Cars Pixar Movie came out in 2006.
2010s: Red from Angry Birds. While the App first came out in December 11th 2009, the Angry Birds series really went viral throughout the early 2010s decade and got a movie in 2016.
2020s: Girlfriend from Friday Night Funkin, the demo version of FnF was released in November of 2020, and has many different mods to this very day.
