Erle Stanley Gardner's Cool & Lam TV Pilot 🎬

Mystery writer/lawyer Erle Stanley Gardner created a whole host of series characters, including Perry Mason and Doug Selby. After Mason, his most popular series was one that featured a team of private detectives, Bertha Cool and Donald Lam. In 1957, Paisano Productions (the company owned by Gardner, which also produced Perry Mason) filmed a Cool & Lam pilot. Here, we see Gardner on the Perry Mason office set, pitching Cool & Lam to potential sponsors. But the show didn’t sell, and the pilot never made it on the air. This is a rare opportunity to see Gardner on film.
