Erikson's eight stages of development (or Erikson’s Model) is a theory that states people develop through eight major stages of life — each one marked by a conflict between two opposing forces (i.e. trust vs mistrust).

As a nurse, this theory helps you understand why patients feel a certain way (depending on their condition) and how to adapt them to your care plan. These stages are also tested on the NCLEX, so don’t miss our tips and tricks!
